Abstract: C'era una volta un re che aveva accumulato la maggior parte dell'oro che si trovava nel proprio regno. I suoi sudditi erano molto poveri, senza terra per coltivare il cibo. Quando i sudditi cominciarono a morire di fame e a vedere le loro famiglie deperire, presero d'assalto il castello e trovarono il re in una grande stanza, rannicchiato accanto ai suoi mucchi d'oro, pregandoli di non rubarglielo. Allora i sudditi, che non avevano toccato l'oro, uscirono dalla stanza e vi chiusero dentro il re. Chiudendo la porta gli dissero: "Ora potrai capire il vero valore del tuo oro". Questa storia ha ispirato "The Idiot Cycle" - un film sul cancro.
Once upon a time there was a king who had amassed most of the gold in his kingdom. His subjects were very poor, with no land to grow food. When his subjects began to starve and to see their families wasting away, they stormed the castle and found the king in a large room, huddled next to his piles of gold, begging them not to steal it. Then the subjects, who had not touched the gold, came out of the room and locked the king in. Closing the door they said to him: "Now you will understand the true value of your gold". This story inspired 'The Idiot Cycle' - a film about cancer.
