Abstract: Il documentario dipinge un quadro senza censure di una struttura psichiatrica dove 40 pazienti eri mentalmente disturbati trascorrono la loro vita. Dopo trattamenti di lunga durata, che si sono rivelati inefficaci nel ridurre il rischio di recidiva, è stato deciso che questi uomini non possono tornare nella società. Chi viene ricoverato in un istituto per cure psichiatriche forensi a lungo termine (Longstay TBS) molto probabilmente non ne uscirà mai. Il Longstay è quindi visto come una condanna a vita sotto mentite spoglie. In questo documentario seguiamo 8 uomini i cui disturbi sono sfociati in gravi crimini. Ognuno di loro ha la propria storia e il proprio background e tutti devono affrontare, in un modo o nell'altro, la loro permanenza nella struttura.
The documentary paints an uncensored picture of a psychiatric facility where 40 mentally disturbed patients spend their lives. After long-term treatments, which proved ineffective in reducing the risk of recidivism, it was decided that these men could not return to society. Those who are admitted to a long-term forensic psychiatric treatment facility (Longstay TBS) will most likely never leave. The Longstay is therefore seen as a life sentence in disguise. In this documentary we follow 8 men whose disorders have resulted in serious crimes. Each of them has his own story and background and all of them have to cope, in one way or another, with their stay in the facility.
