Abstract: "De Groene Amsterdammer", il più antico settimanale politico dei Paesi Bassi, è riuscito a rimanere indipendente per più di un secolo. "Nessun partito ci governerà, non intendiamo cedere l'indipendenza delle nostre opinioni a nessun interesse politico; vogliamo prendere una posizione che non ammetta sospetti"è stato scritto nell'editoriale del primo numero. Di conseguenza, la vita della rivista è sempre in bilico. All'inizio del 2009 si è trovata in un periodo particolarmente burrascoso. I costi sono in aumento e, ad aggravare il disastro, è crollato il pavimento della redazione, di proprietà della rivista. Le cose dovevano cambiare, ma per molti membri della redazione, qualsiasi compromesso commerciale era sbagliato. Il film racconta la lotta di questo giornale per sopravvivere in questo periodo di crisi senza rinunciare ai propri ideali.
'De Groene Amsterdammer', the oldest political weekly in the Netherlands, has managed to remain independent for more than a century. "No party will govern us, we do not intend to surrender the independence of our opinions to any political interest; we want to take a position that does not admit suspicion" was written in the editorial of the first issue. As a result, the life of the magazine is always in the balance. At the beginning of 2009 it found itself in a particularly stormy period. Costs were rising and, to add to the disaster, the floor of the magazine's editorial office collapsed. Things had to change, but for many members of the editorial staff, any commercial compromise was wrong. The film tells the story of this newspaper's struggle to survive in this time of crisis without giving up its ideals.
