Abstract: Questo documentario segue la realizzazione dell'album e del progetto cinematografico realizzati dalla band Noah and the Whale nel 2009. Il film si concentra sul cantautore Charlie Fink che è alla ricerca di una forma di sollievo dallo strazio causato dalla scomparsa della sua fidanzata nonché membro del gruppo con la quale ha realizzato, nel 2008, l'album di esordio della band. La storia è ulteriormente complicata dalla decisione del fratello di Charlie, Doug, il batterista di abbandonare la band per perseguire il suo sogno di diventare medico. Il film si interroga se, attraverso l'espressione artistica, si possa ottenere una catarsi dai problemi e dalle perdite subite nella vita.
This documentary follows the making of the album and film project by the band Noah and the Whale in 2009. The film focuses on singer-songwriter Charlie Fink who is searching for some form of relief from the heartbreak caused by the disappearance of his girlfriend and band member with whom he made the band's debut album in 2008. The story is further complicated by the decision of Charlie's brother Doug, the drummer, to leave the band to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor. The film questions whether, through artistic expression, a catharsis can be achieved from the problems and losses suffered in life.
