Abstract: Andando contro le convenzioni che definiscono in maniera ristretta i parametri che definiscono l'identità francese, il film rivela l'identità multiculturale di alcune famiglie nordafricane. Il confronto è duro tra le donne africane che hanno accompagnato i loro mariti in Francia negli anni '60, e i loro figli, immigrati di seconda generazione. Grazie al laboratorio di teatro, le donne escono dal silenzio e raccontano le loro storie sul palco, a volte per la prima volta in vita loro.
Going against the conventions that narrowly define French identity, the film reveals the multicultural identity of some North African families. The comparison is harsh between the African women who accompanied their husbands to France in the 1960s, and their children, second-generation immigrants. Thanks to the theatre workshop, the women come out of silence and tell their stories on stage, sometimes for the first time in their lives.
