Abstract: Jake è un volontario dei Peace Corps del Malawi, il cui progetto di sviluppo è invischiato nella politica tribale. I problemi iniziano quando la squadra di calcio che sponsorizza si scontra con una squadra rivale. Preso tra le esigenze del suo progetto, la politica locale e i problemi di casa, alla fine della partita Jake è in preda al panico. Jake is a Peace Corps volunteer from Malawi whose development project is entangled in tribal politics. The problems start when the football team he sponsors clashes with a rival team. Caught between the demands of his project, local politics and problems at home, Jake is in a panic at the end of the game. Chatwa, the team captain, is an ambitious farmer who is in business with the local bank, but torrential rains are destroying his crops. Jacqueline, the head cheerleader, suspects her husband is cheating on her and fears he will transmit HIV to her. Mlawa, a midfielder, is excited about becoming a father, but seriously worried about the infection on his leg. Each faces individual challenges as the team meets to compete in the local league.
