Abstract: Il film celebra un'icona mondiale della moda e ci permette di tornare indietro nel tempo per scoprire l'origine di questa "bomba atomica", come fu battezzata dal suo creatore, l'ingegnere francese Louis Réard, facendo riferimento ai test nucleari effettuati dai nordamericani a Bikini Atoll. Il film raccoglie le testimonianze di protagonisti dell'epoca, come la pin-up nordamericana, attualmente fotografa, Bunny Yeager (79 anni) che fece scandalo quando indossò il costume bikini sulle spiagge di Miami. Judson Rosebush ha nella sua collezione diverse centinaia di pezzi e viaggia per il mondo ritraendo modelle di bikini nei luoghi più inaspettati. Il film traccia un parallelo tra l'evoluzione del bikini nel mondo e la popolazione di Bikini che vive in esilio in altri atolli della repubblica delle Isole Marshall.
The film celebrates a global fashion icon and allows us to go back in time to discover the origin of the 'atomic bomb', as it was christened by its creator, French engineer Louis Réard, referring to the nuclear tests carried out by the North Americans at Bikini Atoll. The film collects the testimonies of protagonists of the time, such as the North American pin-up girl, now photographer, Bunny Yeager (79) who caused a scandal when she wore a bikini costume on the beaches of Miami. Judson Rosebush has several hundred pieces in his collection and travels the world portraying bikini models in the most unexpected places. The film draws a parallel between the evolution of the bikini around the world and the Bikini population living in exile on other atolls in the Republic of the Marshall Islands.
