Abstract: Gerusalemme - nel centro della città vecchia si trova il cuore della cristianità: la Chiesa del Santo Sepolcro. Dalla secoli i cristiani hanno utilizzato questo luogo per i loro pellegrinaggi. E da allora, questo è il luogo di un conflitto inter-cristiano che ha sia tratti paradossali che fanatici. Quasi ogni gruppo all'interno del cristianesimo ha rivendicato il luogo per sé costruendovi una nicchia. Per aumentare la confusione, i gruppi non rispettano le reliquie sacre degli altri. La Pietra dell'Unzione di Gesù Cristo, le schegge della croce, il Calvario del Golgota o la Tomba Vuota sono venerate con passione o scacciate con fervore, a seconda di chi lo chiede. Quando i sei diversi gruppi che reclamano almeno una parte della chiesa per se stessi erano completamente bloccati, il governo Osman nel 1852 approvò lo "Status Quo". È ancora valido oggi e - allo stesso tempo - è ancora una fonte inesauribile di lotta per ottenere orari regolari di preghiera o diritti di accesso alla chiesa.
Jerusalem - in the centre of the Old City lies the heart of Christianity: the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. For centuries, Christians have used this place for their pilgrimages. And since then, this has been the site of an inter-Christian conflict that has both paradoxical and fanatical traits. Almost every group within Christianity has claimed the place for itself by building a niche there. To add to the confusion, groups do not respect the sacred relics of others. The Stone of the Anointing of Jesus Christ, the splinters of the cross, the Calvary of Golgotha or the Empty Tomb are passionately venerated or fervently driven away, depending on who is asking. When the six different groups claiming at least part of the church for themselves were completely blocked, the Osman government in 1852 approved the 'Status Quo'. It is still valid today and - at the same time - is still an inexhaustible source of struggle to obtain regular prayer times or church access rights.
