Abstract: Varanasi è una delle città più antiche e sacre del mondo. Un luogo dove sopravvive ancora una certa aurea primordiale. Luogo di residenza di Shiva, creatore e distruttore, Dio dei sensi che spinge alla libertà definitiva, a Varanasi si nasconde un'altra città nella nebbia, nel fumo, nella sabbia: Kashi, la Città della Luce. Per un anno intero il giorno e la notte si alternano secondo i loro ritmi interni, provocando drastici cambiamenti nell'aspetto di questo microcosmo indiano.
Varanasi is one of the oldest and most sacred cities in the world. A place where a certain primordial aura still survives. Place of residence of Shiva, creator and destroyer, God of the senses who impels to ultimate freedom, in Varanasi hides another city in the mist, in the smoke, in the sand: Kashi, the City of Light. For a whole year, day and night alternate according to their own internal rhythms, causing drastic changes in the appearance of this Indian microcosm.
