Abstract: Il film è basato sul diario che Walter Benjamin, commentatore culturale e filosofo tedesco, scrisse nel 1926-27. Il diario descrive gli sforzi di Benjamin per avvicinarsi ad Asja Lacis, la sua lotta per muoversi a Mosca nelle condizioni invernali e le difficoltà politiche, sociali e culturali in una società che attraversa un periodo di rapido cambiamento e auto-definizione. "Filmato con un telefono cellulare, ho assunto il ruolo di un moderno flâneur, seguendo i percorsi che Benjamin descrive, andando nei luoghi, filmando ciò che è ancora lì, o ciò che ha sostituito ciò che c'era una volta". The film is based on the diary that Walter Benjamin, a German cultural commentator and philosopher, wrote in 1926-27. The diary describes Benjamin's efforts to get closer to Asja Lacis, his struggle to move around Moscow in winter conditions and the political, social and cultural difficulties in a society going through a period of rapid change and self-definition. "Filmed with a mobile phone, I took on the role of a modern flâneur, following the routes Benjamin describes, going to places, filming what is still there, or what has replaced what was once there."
