Abstract: Al volante del loro side-car, Geoffroy e Loïc percorrono la Via della Seta per 15.500 km tra Kashgar e Parigi sul mitico tratto che collega la Cina e la Francia. Nei quattro mesi di spedizione, rivivono l'evoluzione del commercio mondiale dall'epoca delle prime carovane fino ai nostri giorni e l'impatto che questo ha avuto sulle risorse idriche. Da est a ovest, Geoffroy e Loïc scoprono stili di vita contrastati che illustrano le varie tappe della globalizzazione: gli scambi limitati ai villaggi vicini, l'esportazione di prodotti agricoli e di manufatti, e infine l'economia globalizzata.
At the wheel of their side-car, Geoffroy and Loïc travel 15,500 km along the Silk Road between Kashgar and Paris on the mythical stretch connecting China and France. During their four-month expedition, they relive the evolution of world trade from the time of the first caravans to the present day and the impact this has had on water resources. From east to west, Geoffroy and Loïc discover contrasting lifestyles that illustrate the various stages of globalisation: trade limited to neighbouring villages, the export of agricultural products and manufactured goods, and finally the globalised economy.
