Abstract: RECUPERARE SCHEDA Fdp 2010 La Valle della Luna è un complesso granitico favoloso che giganteggia sul mare dell’isola di Sardegna, in Italia. Un’umanità originale abita questa valle. Qui, nel ’71, nasce una comunità hippie che, in 40 anni, cambia e si trasforma: oggi la frequentano anche punks, rasta, viaggiatori e vagabondi. Mimmo ed Antoine, i due membri più anziani, passano il loro inverno solitario godendosi la natura incantata e svolgendo le attività minimali per il sostentamento: fare legna, acqua, cogliere verdure ed erbe, cucinare. Al sopraggiungere dell’estate l’incanto è rotto dall’invasione delle generazioni più giovani che, come un popolo migratore, travolge la valle facendo emergere i conflitti. A complicare davvero le cose, accelerando nei protagonisti la coscienza del declino, sarà l’imminente e violento intervento della polizia. La storia racconta il passaggio di testimone tra diverse generazioni, il crepuscolo di un’idea, il poetico concludersi di un ciclo, che si approfondisce nell’esperienza personale dell’invecchiamento.
The Valle della Luna (Moon Valley) is a fabulous granite complex that overlooks the sea on the island of Sardinia, Italy. An original humanity inhabits this valley. Here, in 1971, a hippie community was born which, in 40 years, has changed and been transformed: today it is also frequented by punks, dreadlocks, travellers and vagabonds. Mimmo and Antoine, the two oldest members, spend their lonely winters enjoying the enchanted nature and carrying out the minimal activities for their livelihood: making wood, water, picking vegetables and herbs, cooking. When summer arrives, the enchantment is broken by the invasion of the younger generations who, like a migratory people, sweep through the valley bringing conflicts to the surface. What really complicates things, accelerating the protagonists' awareness of their decline, is the imminent and violent intervention of the police. The story tells of the passing of the baton between different generations, the twilight of an idea, the poetic conclusion of a cycle, which deepens in the personal experience of ageing.
