Abstract: "Questa è un'opera di fiction. Ho scritto una sceneggiatura e ho diretto degli attori. Ma per me queste storie sono anche reali. Raccontano la storia di donne che soffrono e che lottano per dare un senso alla loro vita. Le fotografie raccontano queste storie, non il video, perché volevo che gli spettatori avessero l'opportunità di soffermarsi, di considerare in un modo che solo le immagini fisse, nel loro rallentamento del tempo, possono permettere. Non mi sono proposto di affrontare una serie di 'problemi'. Piuttosto, ho voluto concentrarmi sulla creazione di uno stato d'animo, una tavolozza di sentimenti che spero risuoni una volta che la visione è finita". (E. Maierson)
"This is a work of fiction. I wrote a script and directed actors. But for me these stories are also real. They tell the story of women who are suffering and struggling to make sense of their lives. The photographs tell these stories, not the video, because I wanted the viewers to have the opportunity to pause, to consider in a way that only still images, in their slowing down of time, can allow. I did not set out to address a series of 'problems'. Rather, I wanted to focus on creating a mood, a palette of feelings that I hope will resonate once the viewing is over". (E. Maierson)
