Abstract: Linda è una donna statunitense convertitasi all’Islam già da diversi anni; ha sposato Ali, un ricco signore del Qatar, ed è andata a vivere con lui a Doha, la capitale. E’ tuttora innamorata e convinta della propria scelta, ma le differenze tra i due emergono quotidianamente: atteggiamenti, esigenze e richiesta vanno spesso in direzioni opposte, in particolare per quanto riguarda l’educazione dei numerosi figli. Gli amici espongono frequentemente ad Ali le loro perplessità di fronte al suo matrimonio con una occidentale, e lui cerca di destreggiarsi in una situazione che è effettivamente complessa. Dopo vent’anni insieme, la loro unione sta precipitando in una crisi profonda, Finché arriva, provvidenziale, un periodo di separazione…
Linda is a woman from the United States who converted to Islam many years ago, She married Ali, a wealthy man from Qatar, and went to live with him in the capital Doha, She is still in love, and aushakeable in her convictions but differences between them arise every day: attitudes, needs, demands which often go in opposite directions, especially in the education of thei many children. Ali’s friends often criticise his having married a westerner, and he tries to handle a situation which is, undoubtedly, complex. After twenty years together, their marital situation is becoming desperate and then, at last, Providence steps in with a period of separation...
