Abstract: Aveleda, un piccolo villaggio di Trás-os-Montes (Portogallo), sta lentamente perdendo i suoi abitanti. Ma al solstizio d'inverno, gli scapoli della città più vicina, Bragança, ma anche a Porto, a Lisbona e all'estero, tornano in massa al paese. Vengono a celebrare il villaggio e i loro antenati, perpetuando il rito di iniziazione: la Festa dos Rapazes (la Festa dei ragazzi).
Aveleda, a small village in Trás-os-Montes, Portugal, is slowly losing its inhabitants. But at the winter solstice, bachelors from the nearest town, Bragança, as well as in Porto, Lisbon, and abroad, return to the village en masse. They come to celebrate the village and their ancestors, perpetuating the initiation rite: the Festa dos Rapazes (the Festival of the Boys).
