Abstract: Un musicista incontra una ballerina non udente dalla nascita. Insieme partono alla scoperta dei suoni del mondo. Poco alla volta la loro relazione si sviluppa nella direzione di una vera e propria improvvisazione musicale. L’ambiente urbano inizia a risuonare di melodie inedite, alla stregua di una partitura misteriosa, portata poco alla volta alla luce. Calato in un bianco e nero memore del lavoro di Raoul Coutard, il film è un viaggio alla scoperta di tutto ciò che sfugge alla nostra percezione quotidiana. Attraverso la relazione dei due personaggi, il film si sposta impercettibilmente sul terreno delle affinità elettive, dove il linguaggio è costantemente rielaborato e reinventato attraverso altri segni e altri suoni. In questo modo il film compone la sinfonia di una grande città scoperta attraverso un’educazione sentimentale che, a sua volta, diventa l’immagine di una nuova possibilità di alfabetizzazione. Un percorso iniziatico in una dimensione dove i suoni, come le parole, servono a evocare le possibilità di esistenze alternative alla ricerca di tutte quelle sonorità che non sono ancora state scoperte e ascoltate.
A musician meets a dancer who was born deaf. It is the beginning of a relationship revolving around the discovery of world sounds, which slowly evolves into real musical improvisation. The urban environment begins to resound with new melodies, like a mysterious score which is slowly brought to light. Shot in a black and white reminiscent of Raoul Cotard’s work, the film is a journey, a discovery of all that goes unnoticed in our daily lives. Through the relationship between the two characters, the film imperceptibly shifts to the field of elective affinities, in which the language is constantly re-elaborated and re-invented through other signs and other sounds. In this way, the film also becomes a symphony of a large town discovered through a sentimental education, which becomes in its turn the image of a new possibility of literacy. It is an initiation process, in a dimension in which sounds as well as words help to evoke the possibilities of an alternative existence, in search of all the sounds which have not yet been discovered and listened to.
