Abstract: Il documentario si inserisce nelle celebrazioni del 150 anniversario dell'Unità d'Italia, anche se si racconta la vita cittadina di Reggio Calabria 10 anni dopo l'unità d'Italia e per un arco di tempo di quarant'anni, fino al terribile terremoto del 28 dicembre 1908. Il documentario racconta il periodo della cosiddetta "Belle Époque" attraverso i periodici dell'epoca, se ne contavano una quindicina. I teatri ospitavano le migliori compagnie nazionali ed internazionali e gli alberghi erano sempre pieni di gente che veniva da tutta la provincia per partecipare al fermento culturale e artistico che si respirava in città.
The documentary is part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, although it chronicles city life in Reggio Calabria 10 years after the unification of Italy and for a span of 40 years, up to the terrible earthquake of Dec. 28, 1908. The documentary chronicles the period of the so-called "Belle Époque" through the periodicals of the time, there were about 15 of them. The theaters hosted the best national and international companies, and the hotels were always full of people who came from all over the province to participate in the cultural and artistic ferment in the city.
