Abstract: La Fabbrica del titolo è l'Italsider di Bagnoli, Napoli. "Dove c'era la Fabbrica"è un'indicazione rivolta tanto al futuro e quanto al passato. A chi la fabbrica non l'ha mai vista, e a chi ricorda che lì, dove ora c'è un enorme spazio vuoto, c'era uno stabilimento siderurgico rumoroso, polveroso e fumante. E una domanda rivolta la futuro: dopo la fabbrica cosa ci sarà? Il film è composto da colloqui con operai, impiegati, urbanisti, artisti e a studiosi della città e dei processi culturali.
The Factory of the title is Italsider in Bagnoli, Naples. "Dove c'era la fabbrica (Where the Factory Was)" is an indication aimed as much at the future as at the past. To those who have never seen the factory, and to those who remember that there, where there is now a huge empty space, was a noisy, dusty, smoking steel plant. And a question addressed to the future: after the factory, what will be there? The film consists of interviews with workers, employees, urban planners, artists and to scholars of the city and cultural processes.
