Abstract: Per quattro anni la regista Sigal Emanuel ha documentato la vita di Reut, una giovane ragazza che è stata spostata da un istituto all'altro fino a quando non è finita sulla strada. La documentazione inizia quando Reut ha diciassette anni e dà alla luce il suo primo figlio, che le viene immediatamente tolto dalle autorità assistenziali. Durante le riprese, mentre lotta contro lo Stato per riottenere la custodia di suo figlio, incontra un palestinese, lo sposa, si trasferisce nel suo villaggio e mette al mondo altri due figli. Lungo la strada incontra diverse persone che, da un lato, cercano di aiutarla, dall'altro approfittano delle sue fragilità. Si instaura una relazione impossibile tra lei e la famiglia adottiva del suo primo figlio, ebrei religiosi che vivono in un insediamento nei territori occupati. Nel corso degli anni il film rivela gradualmente il carattere introverso, ma toccante, di Reut. Tutto ciò che desidera veramente è un posto che possa considerare casa e un po' di tranquillità, ma la sua vita è piena di svolte sorprendenti e scioccanti, fino al tragico finale.
For four years, filmmaker Sigal Emanuel documented the life of Reut, a young girl who was moved from one institution to another until she ended up on the street. The documentation begins when Reut is seventeen years old and gives birth to her first child, which is immediately taken away from her by the welfare authorities. During the filming, while fighting against the state to regain custody of her son, she meets a Palestinian, marries him, moves to his village and gives birth to two more children. Along the way she meets several people who, on the one hand, try to help her, on the other hand, take advantage of her frailties. An impossible relationship develops between her and her first son's adoptive family, religious Jews living in a settlement in the occupied territories. Over the years, the film gradually reveals Reut's introverted but touching character. All she really wants is a place she can consider home and some peace of mind, but her life is full of surprising and shocking twists and turns, until the tragic ending.
