Abstract: "East End Kids", film diretto da Carole Laganière nel 2003, si incontravano i bambini di Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, il quartiere di Montreal dove la regista è cresciuta e che richiama immagini di povertà e problemi sociali. In "East End Forever" ritroviamo gli stessi protagonisti giunti al compimenti dei 18 anni. Apprendiamo quello che è successo dal 2003 ad oggi e li seguiamo mentre si affacciano all'età adulta. Come affronteranno il futuro? Saranno ancora pieni di sogni e resilienza? Le loro radici ben radicato nell'East End saranno per loro un handicap o una risorsa?
"East End Kids", a film directed by Carole Laganière in 2003, met the children of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, the Montreal neighbourhood where the director grew up and which conjures up images of poverty and social problems. In 'East End Forever', we find the same protagonists on their 18th birthday. We learn what has happened since 2003 and follow them as they face adulthood. How will they face the future? Will they still be full of dreams and resilience? Will their well-established roots in the East End be a handicap or an asset for them?
