Abstract: Il materiale utilizzato in questo film è stato raccolto nel continente europeo per un periodi di quasi due anni. Tra gli intervistati figurano alcune figure influenti all'epoca dei fatti, come l'ex cancelliere tedesco Gerhard Schroeder, il presidente francese Giscard d'Estaing, il ministro degli esteri tedesco Joschka Fischer e il presidente della Commissione europea, Romano Prodi. La vicenda inizia a Copenaghen dove, nel 2002, viene concordato l'allargamento dell'UE verso est. Dieci nuovi stati vengono ammessi nell'Unione. Utilizzando filmati dell'epoca, il documentario rievoca la stesura della Costituzione europea e le molte complicazione ad essa collegate.
The material used in this film was collected on the European continent over a period of almost two years. Interviewees include some influential figures at the time of the events, such as former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, French President Giscard d'Estaing, German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer and the President of the European Commission, Romano Prodi. The story begins in Copenhagen where, in 2002, the eastward enlargement of the EU was agreed. Ten new states are admitted to the Union. Using footage from the time, the documentary re-enacts the drafting of the European Constitution and the many complications associated with it.
