Abstract: A Saipu, villaggio del distretto di Ramechhap, in Nepal, si trova Laura, una giovane maestra ticinese che ha deciso di prendere un anno sabbatico e mettere le proprie conoscenze pedagogiche al servizio degli insegnanti della scuola del villaggio. Laura è ospite nella casa di Aama, che diventerà col tempo una persona molto importante per la giovane insegnante ticinese. Attraverso un linguaggio corporeo fatto di sguardi, attenzioni e poche rudimentali parole tra inglese e nepalese, Aama diventerà la compagna fedele di Laura e la sua complice nella complessa realtà di Saipu. Dopo essersi conosciute e affezionate durante i cinque mesi del soggiorno di Laura, viene il momento della partenza e della separazione che riporta entrambe alle rispettive vite antecedenti. Anche se niente sarà più come prima.
In Saipu, a village in the Ramechhap district of Nepal, there is Laura, a young teacher from Ticino who has decided to take a sabbatical year and put her pedagogical knowledge at the service of the teachers in the village school. Laura is a guest in the house of Aama, who will in time become a very important person for the young teacher from Ticino. Through a body language of glances, attention and a few rudimentary words between English and Nepalese, Aama will become Laura's faithful companion and her accomplice in the complex reality of Saipu. After getting to know each other and growing fond of each other during the five months of Laura's stay, the time comes for their departure and the separation that takes them both back to their former lives. Although nothing will ever be the same again.
