Abstract: Zeki Ökten, Yusuf Kurçenli, Erden Kıral, Ömer Kavur, Ali Özgentürk e Şerif Gören sono i più importanti esponenti del "cinema realistico" turco, movimento iniziato negli anni '50 da Ömer Lütfi Akad poi seguito da Yılmaz Güney ed ereditato oggi da Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Zeki Demirkubuz, e Yeşim Ustaoğlu. Questi registi hanno contribuito alla fioritura di un cinema fatto di personaggi protagonisti storie quotidiane piuttosto che di eroi melodrammatici in senso classico. Questo documentario rievoca il cinema realistico turco come momento importante nella Storia del cinema nazionale oltre a presentare rari materiali d'archivio.
Zeki Ökten, Yusuf Kurçenli, Erden Kıral, Ömer Kavur, Ali Özgentürk, and Şerif Gören are the most important exponents of Turkish "realist cinema," a movement started in the 1950s by Ömer Lütfi Akad then followed by Yılmaz Güney and inherited today by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, Zeki Demirkubuz, and Yeşim Ustaoğlu. These directors contributed to the flowering of a cinema made up of characters starring everyday stories rather than melodramatic heroes in the classical sense. This documentary evokes Turkish realist cinema as an important moment in the History of National Cinema as well as presenting rare archival materials.
