Abstract: "Tuo figlio di 9 anni ti chiede che cos'è un ebreo e tu tenti di tergiversare con la risposta. Perché tu stesso sei un ebreo e lui no. Perché tuo nonno era ebreo e quindi non c'è più". Come raccontare ai propri figli la seconda guerra mondiale e di quello che essa ha significato per gli ebrei? Marcel Prins lo racconta a suo figlio - alla luce della storia di suo nonno Abraham Prins, che fu, in qualità di trasgressore criminale, tra i primissimi ebrei ad essere trasportati via Westerbork ad Auschwitz nell'estate del 1942.
"Your son, aged 9, asks what a Jew is and you beat around the bush with the answer. Because you are a Jew yourself, and he isn't. Because your grandfather was a Jew, and therefore isn’t there any more." How do you tell your children about the second world war and what it meant for Jews? Marcel Prins tells his son - in the light of the story of his grandfather Abraham Prins, who was, as a criminal offender, among the very first Jews to be transported via Westerbork to Auschwitz in the summer of 1942.
