Abstract: I pittori Inta Celmina e Evards Grube acquistano una casa, battezzata Mikeleni, nel lontano distretto di Vidzeme. Allestendola come studio estivo, vi trascorrono ogni anno molto tempo, compiendo spedizioni per recuperare in giro vecchi arredi tradizionali, letti, orologi e diverse varietà di stoffe tessute a mano. La casa stimola i due artisti a trovare nuovi colori e nuovi soggetti per le loro opere. Il film si concentra soprattutto sui gesti. Le mani dei due artisti sono quasi sempre in primo piano e il loro lavoro esprime perfettamente l'idea della manualità del fare arte. Il ritmo di questo film è incalzante, il racconto pieno di passione. Uno dei film più interessanti e avvincenti del genere dei ritratti d'artista così frequentato dal documentario lituano.
Painters Inta and Grube buy a house, named Mikeleni in the far district of Vidzeme. Arranging it for the summer studio, every year they spent a long time on expeditions around the district, gathering thrown away old traditional equipment of abandoned houses - beds, clocks, different homemade fabrics. The house is an impulse for new colours and motifs in both artists' paintings. This film is mainly centered on gestures. The hands of two artists are almost always in close-up and their work expresses the idea of the manual skill of making art perfectly. The rhythm of this film is unrelenting, the story full of passion. One of the most interesting and successful films of the genre of the artist portrait so often covered in Latvian documentary cinema.
