Abstract: "La mano azul" descrive il processo creativo del pittore di Lisbona Mathieu Sodore mentre crea una serie di dipinti di grande formato, "La música callada del cantaor", ispirati ai palos flamenchi - tipi di canto flamenco - e che mostrano delle parti di volti umani. L'idea è quella di catturare sentimenti, pensieri, dubbi e impulsi dal primo tratto che ricopre la tela bianca fino al momento della firma. È importante capire come la pittura non è solo un'arte visiva ma anche sonora e tattile. Scopriamo gradualmente fino a che punto lo studio è per il pittore la sua cella, la sua grotta e il suo tempio, così che il tempo non vi trascorre allo stesso modo che in altri luoghi. Il film rivela come il pittore non cessi di sentirsi abitato dalla sua opera in gestazione, anche nei momenti di pausa e nella vita quotidiana. Nel frattempo la sua voce ci propone una riflessione sulla sua traiettoria artistica, sulla pittura e un approccio all'arte del ritratto.
"The Blue Hand" describes the creative process of Lisbon-based painter Mathieu Sodore as he creates a series of large-format paintings, "La música callada del cantaor", inspired by flamenco palos - types of flamenco singing - and showing parts of human faces. The idea is to capture feelings, thoughts, doubts and impulses from the first stroke covering the blank canvas until the moment of signing. It is important to understand that painting is not only a visual art but also a sound and tactile one. We gradually discover to what extent the studio is for the painter his cell, his cave and his temple, so that time does not spend there in the same way as in other places. The film reveals how the painter never ceases to feel inhabited by his work in gestation, even in his moments of rest and in his daily life. In the meantime, his voice offers us a reflection on his artistic trajectory, on painting and an approach to the art of portraiture.
