Abstract: Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos (1931-2008), incisore e pittore, č stato uno dei grandi artisti del 20. secolo. Il suo č il mondo dell'Impero al crepuscolo, per il quale ha creato le prime metafore che criticano il colonialismo portoghese che sorse, attraverso vitalitŕ rinnovata, contro il Nuovo Ordine Mondiale. L'artista era consapevole, insieme a T.S. Eliot, che "sia il passato che il futuro sono qui nel presente".
Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos (1931-2008), engraver and painter, was one of the great artists of the 20th century. His is the world of the Empire in twilight, for which he created the first metaphors criticising Portuguese colonialism that rose up, through renewed vitality, against the New World Order. The artist was aware, along with T.S. Eliot, that "both the past and the future are here in the present".
