Four African friends: a writer, a trade unionist, a musician, a cultural mediator, have lived in Italy for over 30 years and fight for the rights of immigrants in our country. They play football, play music and are committed to making African culture known. In Italy, they got married and had children, but still do not have Italian citizenship. They feel more foreign today than 30 years ago, when they were just people and not 'immigrants'. Over the years, they have seen their status change from 'vu cumprą' (a slang expression used to define African street vendors, sometimes abusive) to 'extracomunitari'. Italian laws are evolving in a repressive direction, widening the gap between Italians and foreigners.
