Abstract: Durante un viaggio in treno a bordo dello Shosholoza Express, cittadini sudafricano di varie etnie si confrontano sulle drastiche differenze biografiche. 20 anni dopo la fine dell'Apartheid, niente è più lo stesso, ma niente è come dovrebbe essere. Mentre il film viaggia attraverso metropoli moderne, borgate indigenti e paesaggi sconfinati, racconta una storia di risentimenti duraturi, divisioni interiori e pregiudizi persistenti. Tutti i passeggeri sono sullo stesso treno, vanno nella stessa direzione, ma non tutti viaggiano nello stesso scompartimento.
During a train journey aboard the Shosholoza Express, South African citizens of various ethnicities confront each other over drastic biographical differences. 20 years after the end of Apartheid, nothing is the same, but nothing is as it should be. As the film travels through modern metropolises, destitute townships and endless landscapes, it tells a story of enduring resentments, inner divisions and persistent prejudices. All the passengers are on the same train, going in the same direction, but not all of them travel in the same compartment.
