Abstract: Dopo che il Sudafrica ha abolito l'apartheid e ha formato un nuovo governo, molte cose sono cambiate per il meglio. La popolazione nera ha ottenuto più diritti e opportunità in una società più democratica, ma non tutti hanno beneficiato della nuova situazione. Questa è la storia di diverse famiglie bianche che hanno perso il lavoro e sono cadute in povertà come conseguenza del trattamento preferenziale riservato ai neri. Sono chiamati i "bianchi poveri", un gruppo di cui difficilmente si parla ma che sta rapidamente aumentando di dimensioni.
After South Africa abolished apartheid and formed a new government, many things changed for the better. The black population gained more rights and opportunities in a more democratic society, but not everyone benefited from the new situation. This is the story of several white families who lost their jobs and fell into poverty as a result of the preferential treatment of blacks. They are called the 'poor whites', a group that is hardly talked about but is rapidly increasing in size.
