Abstract: Riflessioni e osservazioni della regista in visita a Berlino, città proibita per quelli della sua generazione, e che ha intrapreso solo dopo la morte dei genitori. Suo padre fuggì dai nazisti nel 1933. La donna deve superare la barriera psicologica rappresentata dalla Shoah, così come la delusione personale del taglio irreversibile delle sue radici familiari dalla Berlino da cui sono stati costretti a fuggire. Poi arriva una rivelazione inaspettata: tra tutte le città del mondo, non Parigi o Londra o New York hanno influenzato la giovane e vibrante città di Tel Aviv. È Berlino che ha trasformato Tel Aviv attraverso gli ebrei fuggiti da Hitler, dalla prima piccola città ebraica in una metropoli di classe mondiale.
Reflections and observations of the filmmaker on a visit to Berlin, a city forbidden to those of her generation, and which she undertook only after the death of her parents. Her father fled from the Nazis in 1933. She has to overcome the psychological barrier represented by the Shoah, as well as the personal disappointment of the irreversible cutting off of her family roots from the Berlin from which they were forced to flee. Then comes an unexpected revelation: of all the cities in the world, not Paris or London or New York have influenced the young and vibrant city of Tel Aviv. It is Berlin that transformed Tel Aviv through the Jews who fled Hitler, from the first small Jewish town into a world-class metropolis.
