Abstract: Nella tarda notte del 27 giugno 1985, le forze di sicurezza sudafricane istituirono un posto di blocco vicino a Port Elizabeth, nella provincia del Capo orientale. Quattro attivisti anti-apartheid, tra cui il loro leader, Matthew Goniwe, insieme ai compagni Fort Calata, Sparrow Mkonto e Sicelo Mhlauli, erano nell'auto cui fu tesa l'imboscata. Vennero uccisi a sangue freddo. Per coprire le loro tracce i corpi vennero sfregiati e venne appiccato il fuoco per impedirne l'identificazione. I resti carbonizzati dei "Cradock Four", come vennero chiamati, furono ritrovati vicino al sobborgo di Bluewater Bay, a Port Elizabeth. Questi omicidi divennero uno degli episodi più torbidi e controversi dell'Apartheid. Late on the night of 27 June 1985, South African security forces set up a checkpoint near Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape province. Four anti-apartheid activists, including their leader, Matthew Goniwe, together with comrades Fort Calata, Sparrow Mkonto and Sicelo Mhlauli, were in the car that was ambushed. They were killed in cold blood. To cover their tracks, their bodies were scarred and a fire was set to prevent their identification. The charred remains of the 'Cradock Four', as they were called, were found near the suburb of Bluewater Bay in Port Elizabeth. These murders became one of the most murky and controversial episodes of Apartheid. The film allows the viewer to feel the oppressive climate of the dark racist regime in the 1970s and early 1980s using compelling archive material, incisive interviews and dramatic reconstructions.
