Abstract: Gli abitanti di Vught (Paesi Bassi) sono stati coercitivamente coinvolti nel campo di concentramento allestito durante la guerra. Questo tragico fatto ha lasciato cicatrici profonde. Nove persone raccontano, per la prima volta dopo 65 anni di silenzio, le loro esperienze nel campo. Le storie, scioccanti, sono intervallate da immagini della Vught contemporanea. Alcuni si sono guadagnati da vivere costruendo baracche o trasportando merci al campo. Altri preparavano in segreto pacchi con cibo per i prigionieri. Tutti guardavano impotenti i treni merci che partivano da Vught verso i campi di sterminio.
The inhabitants of Vught (Netherlands) were coercively involved in the concentration camp set up during the war. This tragic event left deep scars. Nine people tell, for the first time after 65 years of silence, their experiences in the camp. The shocking stories are interspersed with images of contemporary Vught. Some earned a living by building barracks or transporting goods to the camp. Others secretly prepared parcels with food for the prisoners. All watched helplessly as goods trains departed Vught for the death camps.
